As the USSA Masters Manager of the U.S. Ski Team Masters Program, I have been in this sport and racing since 1969. Junior racing, NCAAA racing, Pro racing and for the past 35 year Masters racing and coaching at the PC Masters program. I have seen it all. I run the Park City Masters program that started in 1990. Bootworks and Ernie were there then and are still there, Really what else has to be said? Sure I have looked around and had some boot work done here and there but in the end Ernie knows the deal and fixed me again and again as he did  today, canting and pressure points. If I have Master racer who is in Park City to train and needs a proper fit (boots last a lot longer than skis) I send them to Ernie & the team at Bootworks.

A great custom fit boot is the necessary ingredient that makes skiing an awesome experience. No boot fits right out of the box. I’ve been going to Bootworks for years now because Ernie is the best at fitting my boots! His knowledge and experience is hard to match and I love that when I get new boots he already knows what work needs to be done to fit my feet. Even when the boots hurt he finds a way to make the problems disappear. It doesn’t matter if it’s my race or powder skiing boots - they need to fit right so I can ski well. From insoles to canting, Ernie spends the time to perfect the fit to make sure they are comfortable but still stay tight and perform in fast turns. Thanks Ernie for the great work!

"Since  the age of 12, and now being a 16 year old nationally competitive halfpipe skier, I have found that Bootworks is the best place to find both comfort and performance. No matter what I'm skiing, Halfpipe, Big Mountain, Slopestyle, or Urban, the performance comes from the boots. I can gladly say I've been supported by Bootworks for the last four years and it has never crossed my mind to go somewhere else."   — CAM THUMAN

“I have purchased several pair of boots from Ernie and have been more than satisfied.  He fits you once and you never have to go back. You walk out of the shop and you’re immediately skiing in comfort. Thank you Ernie!”  — JONI BORGHESANI

As a full time ski instructor and race coach for over 30 years, there have been only one or two occasions when I had to have someone other than Bootworks work on my boots, and I was sorry both times. Ernie (Jeff) and his crew absolutely know their stuff, and I have been totally happy with my boots, year after year. Even when I get new boots, Ernie dials them in quickly, every time. I would not go anywhere else for my boot work, period.

"Bootworks understands my feet.  They know which shell is best for my foot and they punch and align my boots to perfection. I can wear my race boots all day with comfort. Bootworks is the best."

“I just want to thank you for my perfectly fitting ski boots.  As a long time skier who puts in 100+ days a year, I have learned the hard way how crucial a good boot fit is to both my comfort and performance.  For years I struggled with an assortment of custom orthotics and boot liners, spending far too much money and time in the shop that would have been better spent on the mountain.  It was with reluctance that I was finally persuaded by a friend - a pro whose opinion I trust - to drive the hour to your shop and give you a try.  In my experience, a new pair of boots would mean many hours in the shop to get the fit dialed and I didn't want to have to travel all that way every time.  To my astonishment, my friend was right and just one trip was required. My boots were great the first time out and stayed that way for over 200 days of skiing.  No  "tweaks" required; no heel lifts, no extra foam, no running in and out and waiting around the boot shop with snow falling, an experience that repeated itself when those boots finally gave up the ghost and I moved on to the next pair.  When an Achilles injury resulted in a change in the shape of my heel and lower leg, a quick trip to you got me back in those same boots with no problem.  My boots perform better without having a bulky liner between my foot and the boot shell. I ski better in a boot that holds my foot snugly at the heel and allows my ankle to roll as necessary, and my feet don't hurt so I can ski all day every day...the only limiting factor being my legs!  You can bet I will be back to you again for the third pair when the time arrives!”     — NANCY SCHUTT

I met Ernie several years ago and have only taken my boots to him for fitting. Ernie is always sure to correctly fit my boots and make adjustments if needed. I use my boots every day for either teaching or the occasional masters race during the season. Thanks to Ernie my boots fit well but most importantly perform as I need them to.
— CHRIS KATZENBERGER / HUMAN RESOURCES FOR DEER VALLEY SKI SCHOOL

Jeff and his team are relentless in their pursuit of boot-footing perfection. They’re not just boot fitters, but expert skiers who understand how important proper fit and alignment is to skiing performance.
— PETER STEIN / MASTERS RACER / SKI COACH / BOOTWORKS CUSTOMER FOR OVER 15 YEARS
As a ski instructor for over thirty years, I have learned my clients’ alignment and boot fit are very important to their improvement. Along with instruction they can easily understand, happy feet make my job easier, so I look for the pros around my home resort at PCMR. In my opinion, Bootworks has the best product and most professional staff around. These guys have put my clients in the best boots for their foot shape, aligned them in a proper stance, created a comfortable foot bed and have great socks too. That in part is why I have been successful in my work. Thank you Bootworks for the last ten years of happy feet and happy clients.
— GENE GAUTIERI, PCMR INSTRUCTOR / STAFF TRAINER

“I have been a Bootworks customer ever since I moved to town almost 25 years ago. Up until then I never had a pair of boots that fit, and I always thought ski boots had to hurt and that my feel had to be cold. All it took was one fitting session to see the error of my ways...a proper fitting boot doesn't have to hurt, and when the fit is correct your feet stay warmer as well. Bootworks is boot fitting done right by professional bootfitters who actually ski the mountain.”

"Purchasing a new pair of ski boots is a big decision. Getting them customized to your foot is an even bigger decision. I had the good fortune of spending over 40 years in the business and I can say, without question, getting your new boots customized at Bootworks will pay huge dividends in both comfort and performance! Skiing boots "out of the box" would be like driving your car on 4 spare tires!!!"

                     — PETER CURTIS / Former General Manager / PCMR

My wife and I have been customers of Bootworks for over 20 years, at various times traveling to Park City from the East Coast and Southwest to be expertly fitted for our ski boots by Jeff Ernst and his staff. Jeff has an uncanny ability to recommend the correct boot by just looking at our foot shape and matching the boot up to our skiing terrain preferences. His attention to detail in selecting the correct boot, building our orthotics, and finally canting the soles of the boots make our skiing experiences extremely enjoyable. We are and continue to be happy, satisfied customers of Bootworks and of Jeff and his staff.
— ROLANDO & MICHELE DE CARDENAS

"I have been going to Bootworks for 20 plus years. Ernie and his staff have the experience and technology to optimize my boots so I can ski my best. They will put you in the right boot, build a contemporary foot bed and then fine tune your fit and alignment."

JOHN GUAY / DIRECTOR OF SKIER SERVICES, DEER VALLEY

I have been skiing for over 50 years and I raced for 8 of those years. I have been teaching skiing for 37 years and I average 130 days a year in ski boots. I know and every experienced skier knows that the first day, or week, or even month in a new boot can be torture. I have had 4 pair of boots fit by Ernie and every time I was able to go out the next day and ski the boot all day with no pain. The best part is that I have never had to take my boots back to have them worked on. The fit was perfect from the start to finish. Thanks Ernie and thanks Bootworks for saving my feet for many, many years.
— ED CHAUNER / PSIA LEVEL 3 ALPINE INSTRUCTOR / SNOWBIRD, UTAH

"I have visited many boot fitters in different parts of the country, and even in Austria. My foot is very difficult to fit, and so I grew to expect many follow–up visits to get an acceptable fit. When I learned about Bootworks about ten years ago, I brought them a pair of boots I had purchased at another shop in Park City. I was delighted when Bootworks quickly corrected the fit. Since that day, I have relied on Bootworks to fit each year’s new boots. I am always impressed with their ability to quickly modify boots for the most comfortable fit for my challenging foot. Bootworks has earned my trust, my thanks, and my recommendation."     — RICHARD SLABINSKI JR.

"We consider Jeff Ernst and the professional staff at Bootworks one of the gems of Park City. Bootworks is the absolute only place to buy ski boots.  Whether you ski Park City Mountain Resort or any other mountain, getting your ski boots at Bootworks is your best move.  Jeff and his staff take great care in making sure your boots are high quality, comfortable and perfectly fitted - all at a reasonable price bound to make any customer happy. Before Bootworks, I could not wait to get my boots off.  Now I just marvel at the comfort and performance.  My wife was ready to give up skiing until Ernie fit her perfectly with very comfortable boots.  My wife and I are intermediate skiers, but my children are all expert skiers. All four of them are delighted with their ski boots from Bootworks. I often stop in to chat with Ernie and his staff, and enjoy hearing other pleased customers thanking them for finally having comfortable and high performance ski boots.  There seems to be no type of foot that Bootworks can’t fit. The highest possible quality, best fit, great prices, and a caring and professional staff make the Bootworks experience the best!"
